Thanks to you who came to the Antique Elegance Show this past weekend! Like the Antique Elegance Facebook page to get insider information about the show and dealers! Not only did we have a great show – but you had the privilege of meeting the Red Hen! Now that her secret is partially out, I’ll go ahead and pull the rest of the curtain aside. I’m proud to introduce Red Hen!
Red Hen has a great eye for all things vintage. She’s collected and sold everything from large furniture to primitives, children’s things to antiquarian books, and everything in between!
Red Hen takes her moniker from the well-known children’s story The Little Red Hen, which can be found here. The story is used to teach children the importance of a good work ethic and personal initiative. Let me tell you – Ren Hen has these qualities in SPADES!
Red Hen always has a lovely display at antique shows – in fact, people at Marburger Farms would frequently ask her if they could purchase her handmade borders that reflected the season! Here’s a piece from one of the fall shows a few years back.
Red Hen also has a great website – CCAntiquesandBooks.com – where she sells books and ephemera as well as Victoriana, quilts, doll accessories, and children’s play things. She shows twice yearly at the Antique Elegance Show and yearly at the Rocky Mountain Book and Paper Fair.
And, as if all of these superlatives weren’t enough, I’m very proud to call Red Hen…MOM!
