We’re in this great stage of life when our friends have started having babies. But, since we’re not all in the same place, we’re determined to keep everyone involved in everything. Enter: the Baby Party. No longer are mothers to be swathed in a pink party full of cooing women alone–our friends’ newest additions are anticipated with a party including guys and gals, great food, delicious drinks, and a lot of love.
Our friend Kristian has now brought the newest member of our group into the world: Karis Nicole!
We threw her a baby party just a few weeks ago, and we did it in modern vintage style. The invitations were inspired by this great vintage photo:
We copied it onto textured off-white paper, then mounted on it a sparkly purple background. We printed the invite on this vintagely-hued double-sided paper, which was the inspiration for the party’s color palette.
The rest of the decor followed suit–simple, fresh, welcoming. Flowers were arranged in low vases.
The punch was served from a large antique punch bowl in matching cups.
2 Cans Pineapple Juice, chilled
2 bottles, 32 oz. ginger ale, chilled
1 – 2 Liter lemon lime soda, chilled
1/4 cup grenadine syrup
1 thinly sliced lemon, optional
1 thinly sliced orange, optional
Add Tito’s Vodka to taste!
The weather was absolutely perfect that day, allowing us to open the windows and doors of our friend’s 1940s Craftsman cottage. Outside, Emily set up a onesie decorating station, where our friends decorated plain white (washed) onesies of two years worth of sizes.
Finished onesies were hung with love in the guest room on a clothing line with clothespins.
In case you were wondering, Karis Nicole was born on April 10th and is a beautiful baby! We’ve got pics of Karis in her one-of-a-kind onesies and she is just too precious not to brag on! (plus Aunt Emily can’t get enough of those cheeks!)
