Throughout time, bathing suits have been a great window into fashion. They’re also a glimpse of what was deemed sexy. From Puritannical bathing dresses made of wool, to the skimpy bikinis of today, bathing beauties are just as intriguing now (men’s magazines) as they were in the past.
This tobacco felt has a lovely bathing nude. She is surrounded by a sea (squadron?) of mermaids, as well as scenic mountains and water flora. The Red Hen framed this blonde bombshell for me, and she graces the wall in my dressing area.
Even my kitty, Josephine, is appreciative! (She just wishes she was vintage so she could be featured in a post!)
This sweet-faced girl is posing for a photo to be given to someone she loves, or so I’m guessing from the sweet look on her face. This photo was turned into a postcard to be used as a souvenir of wherever she was or to write to her beau. I particularly like the attention to detail from the person who colored this photo – making sure each grommet was matched, the wood grained, and the water sunkissed. She, too, is on the wall beauties.
