Your weekend plans should include a trip to the Antique Elegance Show at the Richardson Civic Center. The name may make it sounds like a glass and silver show, but I promise you that it’s so much more! From vintage photographs and make-your-own-dozen Christmas ornaments to maps of the Republic of Texas and estate jewelry galore – this show truly does have it all.

If you’d like to get a dose of education with your antiques, you’ll find the presentations interesting and informational:

  • Saturday at 1p – An interactive lecture focusing on spinning and weaving presented by Jeanne McCarthy from Caledonia Park, PA.
  • Sunday at 1p – Take a walk through the history of Ironstone from its early development through its rise to popularity.  Presented by collector and dealer Linda T. Wilder.

Here’s a sneak peak of the things waiting for you:

Wouldn’t those “DANCE” and “TALL” teaching puzzles look great in frames in a nursery?  Bookends and mottoes and ironstone – oh my! And those green books – including The Clink of the Ice – are just waiting to make their new home on your bookcase, coffee table, or bar.

Hurry! People are buying your stuff! Show open 10a-5p Saturday & Sunday. Here’s the location:

AND, when you come, be sure to wish Red Hen a happy birthday!
