The hubs and I are searching for our dream home. It should come as no surprise that we’re looking at homes of a certain vintage. The older the better, as far as I’m concerned…though I’m learning that age comes with a certain set of problems that we may not be financially (or mentally!) prepared to undertake.

One thing that runs true whether the house is 90 or 50 years old: the tile never lies. Trends are trends, and an apricot bathroom in an otherwise updated house is still a time-warp of epic proportions.

Here are some glimpses into the good, the pink (and the colorful), and the downright head-scratching tile situations we’ve recently encountered:
