Sometimes the need to post about a project hurries that process along! We finally hung our stained glass this weekend!
This window is in our living room and faces the street. Our TV is next to the window, which means folks walking by can see us snuggled on the sofa. Though we’ve had wood blinds on the window, I’ve never liked the tradeoff of natural light for privacy.
I’ve long thought the solution would be to hang stained glass, and I was right! We have curtains for when we need to block light, otherwise we get to enjoy filtered light through these beautiful windows!
A few eye hooks, a little chain, and solid measurements meant this was a relatively quick project. I wanted to keep the extra hinged casing on the one window, to maintain original charm.
A tip for any homeowner: when you paint your rooms, be kind to future people, and take down your window (and light!) fixture(s) when you’re painting! :?
