I saw a wonderful table on a neighborhood corner on bulk trash day. It held such promise that, rather than be late to work (I’m a good employee!), I snapped a quick photo to remind me where to go as soon as I could.
My eternal optimism did nothing for me that day, as the desk was – of course! – gone from the corner when I came back.
I texted Emily with my woe, and she, ever the good friend, made lemonade out of lemons.
Moral of this story: Get it when you see it; if it’s gone, it wasn’t meant to be (or it has termites). And, don’t let the ones that got away haunt you.
